ARES PHE

Quality & Certifications

ARES PHE maintains a comprehensive quality management system and holds certifications covering the principal international pressure vessel, quality, environmental, and performance standards.

Quality Management System

Our ISO 9001-certified quality management system covers all production and administrative processes. Full material identification is implemented for plates and frame components, ensuring complete traceability from raw material to finished product. Detailed internal control documents and Inspection and Test Plans are applied at every production stage, and an ERP-integrated process control system manages the entire workflow from order entry to final shipment.

Independent third-party audits are conducted regularly to verify compliance and performance. Certification is not a document obtained once. It is a system re-examined every year by external auditors, and the same system governs a single replacement plate and a complete refinery unit.

Health & Safety

AHRI Standard 400

Third-party verified thermal performance. Published ratings are tested and confirmed by an independent body rather than declared by the manufacturer, so engineers can size without a margin for performance uncertainty.

Performance Certified

Hygienic Standards

Hygienic units are designed in line with 3-A and EHEDG hygienic design principles, with FDA-compliant food-grade gaskets, with food-grade gasket compounds and documented material traceability for product-contact duties.

Pressure Vessel Design Codes

Frames and pressure-bearing components are engineered to AD2000 Merkblätter, EN 13445, and ASME Section VIII Division 1, according to the code applicable in the destination market.

What Independent Performance Certification Means

Most thermal performance figures in this industry are manufacturer declarations. AHRI Standard 400 certification works differently: an independent body tests production units and confirms that measured performance matches the published rating.

Participation involves yearly audits and the random selection of production units for testing at an independent laboratory. If a model fails, it is delisted. That mechanism is what gives the certification its value.

For a specifying engineer this removes a recurring problem. Where ratings cannot be verified, the usual defence is to add a safety margin, which means a larger unit, higher capital cost, and higher pumping energy for the life of the installation. Certified ratings allow the unit to be sized for the duty it actually has.

Inspection and Testing

Certification defines the system. These are the checks every unit passes before it leaves the factory.

Material Traceability

Every plate and pressure-bearing component is traceable from mill certificate to finished unit serial number. EN 10204 3.1 material certificates are supplied with the unit.

Hydrostatic Testing

Every unit is hydrostatically tested before dispatch in accordance with PED 2014/68/EU, EN 13445, and AD2000 Merkblätter, as applicable to the design code of the order.

Inspection and Test Plans

An ITP is applied at every production stage. Hold points and witness points are agreed with the customer in advance where the project requires them.

Third-Party Inspection

We work with a wide range of classification societies and independent inspection bodies, including Bureau Veritas, ABS, RINA, Lloyd's Register and others, who attend and witness testing when the project specifies it.

Documentation Supplied With Every Unit

Certification only helps if the paperwork reaches your file. Standard documentation includes the declaration of conformity, material test certificates, the hydrostatic test report, the dimensional drawing, and the nameplate record.

Project-specific documentation packages, including welding procedure qualifications, non-destructive testing reports, and third-party inspection releases, are prepared where the specification calls for them. Tell us the documentation requirement at enquiry stage and it is priced and scheduled into the order rather than negotiated afterwards.
